SSD carried out a small installation using NA1 lite for the CITB in 2007 to facilitate the monitoring of students and staff using the staff restaurant. At that time, the HQ site at Kings Lynn in Norfolk was secured by a Honeywell Site Guard system, which was several years old.
In 2010 SSD was requested to upgrade its installation to incorporate the existing system that secured all the sprawling office areas at the HQ site. The system was expanded in 2011 to secure the regional offices from Bridgend in Wales, the Midlands and Glasgow and Inverness in Scotland. It was further expanded in 2012 to operate new accommodation blocks at Kings Lynn, which operate on a hotel type room booking system and again in 2013, when an extension was added to the accommodation blocks.
The NA1 management system located at the HQ now controls all office complexes at the campus, accommodation blocks and the regional offices, including over 200 doors. As well as the NA1 access control systems SSD also installed over 50 CCTV cameras covering the new accommodation blocks.
